WordPress.com has paid plans with a lot of advanced features and features, but it also enables you to create a completely free WordPress blog.

Before starting work, you must define some important points first, to facilitate the work afterward, and define the broad lines that you intend to follow, to achieve the best results in the future.

Points to be identified before creating a WordPress blog

Define the name of the blog

The name should be related to the field in which you will work, or related to the content that you want to publish.

You should also search carefully, and check that there is not already a blog with the same name. In this case, you should always keep alternate names.

Define a payment plan

You can always take advantage of the free “com” plan that WordPress offers, but be aware that your blog will be just a subdomain for a WordPress site like this: wordpress.yoursitename.com.

But in any case, you can always upgrade to paid plans in the future, so that your site name is not linked to WordPress like yoursitename.com.

Here is a link to the WordPress site that allows you to compare the plans it offers and their prices:  wordpress

The choice in the aforementioned plans is due to the size, purpose, and budget of the blog. Here we advise beginners with the free plan, in the beginning, to explore the work first, develop ideas and measure the possibility of success, and when you feel that you are standing on solid ground and want to grow your blog, you can upgrade to the paid plan with ease.

Determine the purpose of creating a blog

You must define your goal for creating the blog before you start creating it. You must determine whether the blog will be for entertainment, marketing, or profit purpose.

You must also specify the goal that you want to reach through your blog, do you want it only as a blog for your family and friends and serve as an archive for your writings, or do you want to share your interests with the world and strive to reach the largest number of visitors to it.

This of course contributes to shaping the decision of which payment plan you want to sign up for.

Create an integrated plan for your blog

You can only achieve success with a solid and clear plan, you have to limit the number of times you want to publish each day or week, and you also have to choose between hiring other bloggers or getting enough yourself.

If you want to create a professional blog, you should also create a marketing plan to help others reach your blog and the topics on it.

Now you are ready to start with the actual steps of creating a blog on WordPress.

Steps to create a free WordPress blog

Fortunately for us as Arabs, the WordPress site is available in Arabic, and this makes the task of creating a WordPress blog much easier and simpler.

In the next steps, we will explain how to create a free WordPress blog in Arabic.

The first step

Access the Arabic version of WordPress by clicking on this link >> wordpress

Click on the start button, as shown in the image below.

Fill in this information, then click the blue Continue button.

The third step

When you click Continue, you will be taken to another page containing several other data, as shown in the figure below.

  1. In the first field, enter the name of the blog (choose a suitable name for your new blog).
  2. In the second field, write the area of specialization to which your blog belongs.
  3. In the third field, select the goal for which you want to create a blog.
  4. In the fourth field, specify your level of experience in creating websites.
  5. After filling in the information, click Continue.

The fourth step

After clicking Continue, you will proceed to a new step, as shown in the figure below.

In this step, you need to select the domain name of your blog, which will be the URL of your WordPress blog.

WordPress hosting

Your choice here largely depends on the plan you want to subscribe to, for example, if you want to subscribe to one of the paid packages, in this case you can choose a direct domain name for your blog, but if you want to create a free blog, the word you choose will appear as a subdomain like to this: your blog. wordpress.com .

In any case, at this step you have to choose one of the words that express the activity of your blog, and then you can click on the search sign to the left of the rectangle. Here WordPress will offer you a set of available options (a domain name is something unique and not repetitive, so the probability that the word you entered will be available is small).

Here I entered my name (Islam) into the domain name selection rectangle, and then WordPress offered a list of available domain names associated with the word “Islam".

Over the right he proposed Islam. holidays as the best match to my word, on the left, suggested Islam online. blog as the best alternative, and just below he gave me a list of other suggestions, primarily a free option >> wordpress

This is as shown in the image below

Of course, you can change the word, try again and experiment as you like to get the best available domain name suitable for your blog.

As for me here, in my example, I chose the free alternative directly by clicking the Selection button next to it.

The fifth step

After selecting a domain name by clicking the Select button, you will be taken to a page to select the package or plan that you would like to subscribe to. With it, you will find a presentation of 4 plans with some information about each of them, as shown in the figure below.

Select the plan that suits you, then click on the ”Start with ......" button for it. If you choose one of the paid plans, WordPress will direct you to the payment page to complete the payment process.

In my example here, I selected a free plan and then clicked the "Start with free button" (first choice on the right).

The sixth step

After choosing a suitable plan, you will go to the page shown below, and then WordPress will create your blog, and you only need to wait a few minutes for your WordPress blog to be created.

The seventh step

As soon as you create a blog, you will be taken to the control panel of the created blog, as shown in the figure below.

At this step, fill in the data for the blog, that is, raise the blog icon, and as soon as you download it, you can find additional suggestions for filling in your blog data in this upper rectangle.

You will also find blog statistics in the dashboard, whether it is topic views, number of visitors, number of likes, number of comments.. etc. On the right you will find a column with all the features of WordPress, with which you can start creating sections and themes, upload images or videos to your blog and perform all sorts of other settings.

The eighth step

To create a new topic for your blog, click on the Add button next to the blog entries in the right column in the previous image or click on the Entries button in the upper left corner.

Then you will be taken to the article editing page, as shown in the figure below.

Enter the title of the article, then enter the content. In the center of the page you will find a formatting panel for texts, paragraphs and images.

Above the formatting panel on the left you will find a button that will take you to the HTML version. This allows programming specialists to write HTML and CSS codes to show the article and its content more professionally.

The Add button is located in the extreme north corner of the layout panel, which allows you to add visual media, be it images, videos or GIF files, and you can also add media from Google, such as “Google Drive”, “Google Photos” and “Google Maps”.

After you finish writing the article, you can click on the Publish button in the menu on the left or click on the preview button to view the article before it is actually published, and you will also find the option to preview the article on smartphone devices.

the ninth step

Choose the look and style of your blog (choose a theme)

WordPress Theme or WordPress template: This is a blog theme in terms of colors, formatting and everything related to the visual aspect of blog design. WordPress provides some templates for free, and you can choose from them at your discretion using

Click on the Templates button in the right column of your control page.

When you click on the Templates button, a group of templates will appear in front of you, as shown in the figure below.

To apply one of these templates to your blog, click on the three dots in the lower left corner of the template image, a list of some options will open in front of you. By clicking on the Try and Customize option, you can view your blog using this template, and by clicking on the activate button, you can apply this template to your blog.

You can also upload your templates (outside of WordPress) via the free “FTP" protocol to upload files and folders.

the tenth step

Click on the Customize button in the menu on the right (as in the image above next to the Templates), with which you can write a brief description of the blog's activities and goals, add colors, backgrounds, fonts for writing, a blog cover image, define the menu shape, and home page settings, and this is as shown in the figure below.
